Mr. Al-Fares holds the position of Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer at Alinma Bank since May 2006. With an experience spanning over 30 years, he started his professional career at Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) in 1983 where he worked for 18 years in various positions, until his appointment as the Director General of the Accounting Department. 

Previously, he occupied various positions in a portfolio of international and regional companies, such as Ernst & Young in Los Angeles-USA, the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Abdul Latif Jameel Group (ALJ).

Mr. Al-Fares is a board member in several corporations including Alinma Bank, Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, and the Saudi Association for Certified Public Accountant (SACPA).

He is a former board member at many corporations and organizations such as SABIC, Riyadh Regional Council, General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), Saudi Agricultural Fund (SAF), & the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD). 

He holds a degree in Accounting from King Saud University, and MA degree in Accounting from Western Illinois University (WIU) USA, and he obtained his CPA in 1995.
